Lippert Components® announces exclusive design and distribution agreement with Thule

November 30, 2015

Elkhart, Ind. — Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI®) announced today it has entered into an exclusive agreement with the Thule Group providing LCI the rights to sell and distribute the Thule box-style patio awning, awning accessories, RV bike carriers, roof lighting and security and portable storage products to the RV industry in the North American market. LCI will display the Thule awning along with new Solera Awnings and accessories at the RVIA National RV Trade Show at booth 245 on December 1-3, 2015, in Louisville, KY.

“Thule is recognized around the world for bringing sophisticated products to outdoor enthusiasts, and we’re excited to offer their premium RV products to our customers,” said Jason Lippert, LCI Chief Executive Officer. “The compact Thule awning is a perfect supplement to our growing Solera Awning line. It can be mounted almost anywhere on an RV, making it ideal for use over toy hauler ramp doors and on Class A, B and C motorhomes.”

The sleek Thule awning enhances LCI’s growing line of Solera Awnings. The box-style awning takes up less space on the RV sidewall because the awning arms fold up into the case and store out of sight when the awning is closed. The lightweight Thule awning has a sleek profile, is easy to operate using a crank, and features the longest canopy extension of any toy hauler ramp door awning on the market at 6-foot-6-½-inches. Available in multiple sizes for a broad range of applications, the Thule awning comes with optional, easy-to-deploy vertical support arms for added stability.

Magnus Welander, Thule Group CEO and President, believes LCI’s broad customer base and its vision to enhance the RV camping experience makes LCI an ideal marketing partner for the Thule brand in the North American RV market. “At Thule we have been dedicated for more than 70 years to providing excellent products for outdoor enthusiasts, and over the years have established a strong position within the European RV industry,” said Welander. “This cooperation with Lippert Components will allow us to efficiently offer our portfolio of RV products to the North American market. LCI has an extensive sales and service organization dedicated to RV manufacturers in the region, a fantastic lineup of products, including the rapidly growing Solera Awning line, and a dedicated aftermarket distribution and customer service center. In addition, LCI has made consumer satisfaction a top priority as its business has grown over 60 years.”

Jason Lippert said he respects Thule and feels honored to offer its products to the RV industry. “The Thule name goes beyond just RVing and caravanning. They have created a highly-desired, active outdoor lifestyle brand that draws people to their products,” said Jason Lippert. “We believe the addition of Thule products on RVs and in dealer stores will further enhance the appeal and spirit of RVing.”

Thule and LCI are also working to develop other manual and motorized lateral arm awning products to cover the full spectrum of RV awning applications. Manufacturers can email OEMSales@lci1.com and dealers can email aftermarketsales@lci1.com for more information about the Thule awning, awning accessories, RV bike carriers, roof lighting, security products and storage products.
