Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI®) recruits former NFL player Braxston Cave to its Management Training Program

August 12, 2016

Elkhart, Ind. — Former Notre Dame Football star and ex-NFL player, Braxston Cave, has joined the Management Training Program at Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI®). Cave joins the LCI team as Manager in Training at Lippert’s Plant 45 in Goshen, Ind., where he will prepare for an operational management role within the company.

Lippert’s Management Training Program, initiated in 1994 by LCI CEO Jason Lippert and his team, aims to build long-term management teams within the company. The program focuses on bringing college-educated individuals from all areas of the country and outside the business into the recreational vehicle (RV) industry. “Our Management Training Program is a huge reason for the success of LCI; our program is unique within our industry. We’ve created a rewarding system that has created proven industry leaders who have helped strengthen our business and the industry as well. We’re proud to bring top-talent into the fold, and we’re confident that Braxston will be a great asset,” commented Jason Lippert, CEO of Lippert Components.

One goal of the LCI Management Training Program is to bring college-educated individuals from outside the RV market from all geographical areas in order to bring diversity to an industry that typically recruits only regionally. The curriculum of the program is designed to provide trainees with a roadmap that introduces them to LCI’s unique culture, defined by its core values, while giving them exposure to the product-building process during their time spent in the ‘trenches’ of the company’s infrastructure. In turn, the program allows LCI to assess managers-in-training and determine where their skillsets would be best utilized, resulting in a high-performance workforce.

“We are extremely excited about the addition of Braxston Cave to the Lippert family. His leadership experience on and off the football field will lend itself well to the responsibilities he will take on at LCI. Braxston will be training within our Management Training Program to prepare him for an operational role within our organization. He is excited to learn our products, the industry, and to become a part of the Lippert leadership team,” commented Adam Clark, LCI’s General Manager of Plant 45.

Since its inception over two decades ago, LCI’s Management Training Program has cultivated a few hundred talented individuals within Lippert’s management teams. Much of LCI’s recent growth and business success are, in large part, a result of the program and the talented individuals who graduate from it.

“I’m very excited to start this next chapter of my life and in my career. LCI’s Management Training Program is a very appealing avenue into the industry and has already proved to be a great way to get acclimated with all of the moving parts of the business,” commented Braxston Cave. "The transition from the locker room to the business world has been a great experience thus far. It's been extremely comforting working with a team that is passionate about what they do, and I know I can help them win long-term."

Cave is a 2012 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. During his tenure at Notre Dame, Cave was an active member of the football team’s offensive line and was named a third team All-American. After graduation, Cave spent three years in the NFL. Cave’s history of leadership and adaptability will lend itself well to his new role as Manager in Training.
